The CGMS Microcredential is designed for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) who have previously completed the ADEA CGM Microcredential and want to stay up to date with the latest advancements and product updates in Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems.
This microcredential includes updates on:
- New CGMS available in Australia
- Updated integration options
- Updated product information and guides

Who Should Enrol?

This course is designed specifically for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) who work in diverse settings—clinics, hospitals, community environments, and private practice—across rural, remote, and metropolitan Australia.
This course is designed for you to complete at your own pace. We recommend that you allow at least 3 hours to complete learning content and activities.

This activity has been accredited for 3 CPD points in Category 1 upon successful completion of relevant assessment activities.

Assessment
At the end of the course, you must complete the assessment activities and achieve 80% to gain your certificate and digital badge.

What You’ll Learn

The learning outcomes for this refresher microcredential remain aligned with the original ADEA CGM Microcredential but have been updated to include the latest advancements, product updates, and research in Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS).
By the end of this module, you will be able to:

- Describe the Continuous Glucose Monitoring systems (CGMS) available in Australia, including new devices 
- Identify the similarities and differences between CGMS, incorporating the most recent updates
- Describe the eligibility criteria and application process for partially and fully subsidised CGMS under the latest guidelines
- Understand the integration of CGMS with smartphones, smart devices and insulin pumps, including new compatibility options
- Describe the practical aspects of inserting a sensor, pairing a transmitter, connecting to an app and linking to healthcare professional (HCP) software, incorporating the updated information
- Describe how CGMS reports are interpreted and analysed, including metrics like Time in Range (TIR) and Ambulatory Glucose Profiles (AGP), incorporating updated information and guides
