Part 2: Foundations of Health and Wellness Coaching- Coaching skills and positive psychology

Part 2: Foundations of Health and Wellness Coaching- Coaching skills and positive psychology
This is the second microcredential in a four-part Foundations of Health and Wellness Coaching series, created for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and diabetes educators.
You can also access the full series as a bundled package, which includes all four microcredentials.

Building on the knowledge and skills introduced in the first microcredential, this course takes a deeper dive into the practical and theoretical elements of effective coaching.
In this microcredential, you will explore core coaching principles and continue developing key skills such as open-ended questioning, active listening, and reflective communication. The focus is on delivering expert information in a way that supports and empowers clients- guiding rather than directing them.
This course introduces the theory of positive psychology and its application in coaching, particularly in fostering resilience, motivation, and sustainable behaviour change.

The content covered in this microcredential is designed to be relevant for CDEs and diabetes educators practicing in all parts of Australia, from rural and remote areas to metropolitan regions.

This microcredential is suited for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs) and diabetes educators who support people living with diabetes in a variety of environments, including clinics, hospitals, community spaces, and private practices, among others.

It is also important that CDEs and diabetes educators practice within their role and scope.

Please revise the Role and Scope of Practice for Credentialled Diabetes Educators in Australia document.

This microcredential has been accredited for 2 hours of Category 1 CPD or 2 CPD points, applicable to an individuals CPD plan upon successful completion of assessment.
