Dr Giuliana Murfet receives ADEA Honorary Life Membership Award

On 23 August 2024, ADEA proudly announced that Dr Giuliana Murfet has been honoured with the prestigious ADEA Honorary Life Membership Award. This accolade recognises her extraordinary contributions to diabetes education, clinical practice, and research throughout her distinguished career.

Dr Murfet, a Visiting Senior Research Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney and an active nurse practitioner specialising in diabetes and bariatrics, has made significant strides in advancing diabetes care. She has played a pivotal role in developing innovative models of care and enhancing the capacity of the healthcare workforce.

Reflecting on this honour, Dr Murfet stated, “This award is an incredible recognition of the collective efforts of my colleagues and the broader diabetes community. Together, we strive to make lasting differences in the lives of those living with diabetes.”
